No Cups Were Used in the Making of this Online Fashion Haven

Hey TGOB readers!

I have moved to a new blog and I'd love for you to follow me.

BeeIsTheNewBlog is my new home and there you'll find all the same fashion and beauty stuff you've read here....maybe with a few new twists.

Hope to see you there!!

P.S. Here's the link again!

My September Issue: Part 3
I was excited to see the thumb nails of the Nicole Miller show because it looks like she did her whole collection in white...which makes me extremely happy.

Alas, like everything else, the collection failed to lift my heart.

Having never been a fan of Nicole Miller, I'm not familiar with her style or aesthetic and how she approaches her collections.

This specific show doesnt make me want to find out. With the gorgeous fabrics she's using and her brilliant idea to present most everything in white, this could have been a no brainer for other designers.

My September Issue

The great thing about September? Besides the whole beauty with changing leaves and it bringing us closer to my birthday, it's all about the Spring fashion shows.

As we speak (or type) New York's 2011 fashion shows are going on.

I've already shown you Richie Rich's newest collection so let's jump right into my personal favourite Christian Siriano.

Call me crazy but I usually prefer it when a designer keeps a specific palate consistant on the runway. This feels a little all over the place. His gowns are crazy and overly dramatic while his regular day wear is a tad boring.

There a definately things I love about this collection and hope that people wear them on the red carpet but I also feel like this isn't the Christian Siriano I know and love.

Can't wait to see more runways!

Judgement Day: Part Six

Luckily for me the weather is starting to turn colder. And that means I can start wearing fall pieces mixed with summer's and THAT means I'm not as at risk of repeating outfits as I was before.

This is getting hard so appreciate.

Dress: Urban Behaviour
Sweater: Aritzia
Necklace: Vintage

Shirt: Aritzia
Pants: Garage
Necklace: Aldo Accessories

Sweater: Urban Behaviour
Shirt: Garage
Skirt: Anthropologie

And just because this is ANOTHER week with only a few outfits, I'm adding in two pictures of me in gorgeous clothes going out for fun.

Please note that there are NO tags for what stores these clothes were bought in because they don't belong to me. I have a hideous habit of raiding my friends fabulous closets!

Dress: Terra's

Dress: Ellie's

Heatherette 2.0

The deliciously absurd duo that is Heathertte broke up a little while ago. We now find Traver Reins as a fashion photographer (and somewhat of a designer/stylist for those shoots) while apparently Richie Rich is still designing things that wander down runways.

Below is Richie Rich's self-titled collection for Spring 2011.

I am less then impressed or enthused about the line.

Don't get me wrong. This is a gorgeous collection. The colours are amazing and the styles are sexy and fun. My problem here (don't I always have one?) is that THIS isn't what I expected from someone who used to give us THIS:

I know what you're going to say.

Bee, these are two very different lines...it's a GOOD thing that one doesn't mirror the other.
Bee, it's just Richie Rich...maybe his designs changed because Traver isn't around now.
Bee, these designers have a lot going on and can't stop to think about changes that make you uncomfortable.

*Sigh* You're all so right.

Maybe I don't have a problem with it then.

25 Years and Still Fabulous

So I finally got my hands on these pictures I've wanted to put up since Wednesday morning.

As you may or may not know, Fashion Television celebrated it's 25th anniversary with a huge party on Tuesday. Celebs like Mia Michaels, Stacey McKenzie and Paul Venoit came out for the shindig that happened at the CTV studios on Queen and John.

I, of course, went around the party snapping pics of all the ULTRA fabulous clothes in the room. Sadly, there was a hint of a clusterf*ck with my camera and the one I had to borrow, so many amazing outfits went by unphotographed. But still here are the ones I was able to capture:

And what fashion party is complete without some sort of a fashion show?

Love Me Still

Hi LoveBugs!
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted and the last one wasn't all that interesting BUT I've been in the middle of attempting to get pictures from an event I went to and it's not going very well. ANGER!

But to make me feel better here is the post I did for HiFashion...

(I'm sorry! I promise new material will come! Like Judgement Day for this past week...all in good time)

A few days ago, le boyfriend and I were talking about my fashion loves versus what he likes to see me in. He always prefers me in a more minimalist, au naturel look while I prefer more up to the moment trends. So I made a list of things most ladies prefer versus what most men would prefer to see and how we can come to a stylish compromise!

You like: Red
He likes: Natural
Compromise: Pink stain

Red vampy lipstick is always in style and makes whoever’s wearing it look like they’re in charge. When guys see that colour...they’re not so much feeling powerless as they are wondering how long it’ll take them to get off the lipstick-kissing-residue. Le Boyfriend always prefers lips to look they’re natural hue and not glossy. Because let’s face it...whatever we wear, they’ll be wearing in no time. Not our fault he’s so darn cute. Solution? A pink lip stain. I like mine from CoverGirl. It lasts forever and won’t rub off if I insist on kissing someone to death. Plus it’s a stain so won’t look crazy glossy.

You like: Structured style
He likes: Bedhead
Compromise: Messy side braid

If you’re like me, once you do your hair the slightest gust of wind will grind your gears! After spending copious amounts of time, bobby pins and hairspray on my hair, I hope to keep each hair in place for the entire day. Guys, on the other hand, love the feeling of running their hands through sexy, wavy hair. Solution? A messy side braid. It’s so chic right now that you’ll feel like you’re walking the streets of
Paris no matter where you are but also the entire chicness lies in the fact that it’s supposed to look UNDONE. So if a hair or two fall out of place you’ll actually love how it makes you look even more like your alter ego: “Oh-does-this-look-good?-I-hadn’t-even-noticed”

You like: Up to the moment style
He likes: Casual Comfy
Compromise: Boyfriend

You like everything to be form-fitting and of the latest styles. He likes you to be comfy in case he’s got fun plans in mind (and cuz he doesn’t wanna hear you complain all day). Solution? Embrace the slouchy, boyfriend craze. Baggy jeans, a loose white tee and a black or tan boyfriend blazer and you can toss on and off is the perfect outfit to relax in.   If you’re still intent of showing off that figure of yours, belt those jeans or get a v-neck shirt. Add some sex appeal by pairing it with chunky heels. Bonus points: chunky heels hurt less!

You like: Chunky chains, rings or bracelets
He likes: Dainty chains, rings or bracelets.
Compromise: Layers

While you may think this choice is all about what’s hot at the moment that special person in your life is imagining the pain he’ll be in if he catches one of those statement rings with the side of his face. (A reasonable concern if you’re like me and talk with your hands). Solution? Dainty pieces but lots of it. Slim, delicate rings look badass when you pile five on a finger or two on five fingers. Getting ones that are smaller then your finger can work because they’ll stop before the middle knuckle and you’ll look like a 70s rocker. Thin chains with pendants loaded on top of each other is a popular choice instead of a super heavy statement necklace. Skinny bangles are sexy
AND musical when you wear twenty per wrist. And don’t be a wimp…switch it up by pairing jewellery with things that don’t necessarily match. Gold and silver necklaces or bracelets together! Things with sparkles and things with studs unite! Make it truly unique by throwing in a necklace that your mom wore back in the day.

What you’ve just been given is the recipe for a great outfit. One that is boy
AND girl approved.

Again I apologize for the recycling.

Love me!

Stuff I Need

Okay maybe I don't neeeeeeeeeeed but stuff that I saw.

I went to Holt Renfrew recently and saw a few amazing things.

Firstly there's a new popular purse style that design houses like Dior, Michael Kors and Chanel are taking on.

These tiny lunch box styled purses were all over the place. Different sizes and colours (MK had one in a snake skin!).

My other finding was a pair of Alexander Wang sunglasses that I absolutely adored!

Okay, they look weird BUT I swear they looked sooooo cool on.

And look at who else has them:

Be Still My Beating Heart
I think I have found the perfect purse to go with the Alexander Wang boots:

Behold my new (but as of yet imaginary) Prada purse:

I know, I know....your jealousy is overwhelming.

And quite delicious.

Thanks..."Preciate It

A little while ago I bought something pretty and kind of expensive from Holt Renfrew and now they send me emails of all the gorgeous stuff they get in new......that are way out of my price range.

And if I have to suffer through the amazing pictures....so do you.

Even worse....they've somehow figured out my weakness for shoes......

Elizabeth and James $750

Chie Mihara $450

Joie $720

Le Pepe $495

Luxury Rebel $220

Ash $385

Marc by Marc Jacobs $520

Michael Kors $358

Modern Vintage $340

Timberland $360

Tory Birch $325

I know what you're thinking....two of each one.
